Definition: Improving health status of an individual by adjusting the quantities, qualities, and methods of nutrient intake.

Nutrition Therapy Categories.
Diet Therapy - By adjusting the quantity and quality of food intake to improve health status of an individual. This term does not include the methods of food intake (NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT).
Nutritional Support - The administration of nutrients for assimilation and utilization by a patient by means other than normal eating. It does not include FLUID THERAPY which normalizes body fluids to restore WATER-ELECTROLYTE BALANCE.
