Alpharetrovirus

Definition: A genus of the family RETROVIRIDAE with type C morphology, that causes malignant and other diseases in wild birds and domestic fowl.
Notes: infection: coord IM with AVIAN LEUKOSIS (IM) or SARCOMA, AVIAN (IM), but if not so specified coord IM with RETROVIRIDAE INFECTIONS (IM) + TUMOR VIRUS INFECTIONS (IM) if pertinent

Erythroblastosis Virus, Avian - A species of ALPHARETROVIRUS causing progressive anemia and weakness in domestic and wild fowl.
Leukosis Virus, Avian - The type species of ALPHARETROVIRUS producing latent or manifest lymphoid leukosis in fowl.
Myeloblastosis Virus, Avian - A species of ALPHARETROVIRUS causing anemia in fowl.
Sarcoma Viruses, Avian - Group of alpharetroviruses (ALPHARETROVIRUS) producing sarcomata and other tumors in chickens and other fowl and also in pigeons, ducks, and RATS.
