Definition: Antibiotic group of PEPTIDES, many of which are CYCLIC PEPTIDES. They are generally effective against GRAM-POSITIVE BACTERIA and act by inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis in bacterial cell walls.

Antibiotics, Glycopeptide - Antibiotics whose structure contains one or more cyclic peptides to which are attached to one or more deoxy sugars in glycosidic linkage. They are generally effective against gram-positive bacteria and act by inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis in bacterial cell walls.
