Signs and Symptoms

Definition: Clinical manifestations that can be either objective when observed by a physician, or subjective when perceived by the patient.

Signs and Symptoms Categories.
Aging, Premature - Changes in the organism associated with senescence, occurring at an accelerated rate.
Asthenia - Clinical sign or symptom manifested as debility, or lack or loss of strength and energy.
Body Temperature Changes - Significant alterations in temperature of the human body, above or below 98.6 degrees F. or 37 degrees C. when taken orally.
Body Weight Changes - A clinical manifestation consisting of alterations in an individual's weight from his or her norm.
Chills - The sudden sensation of being cold. It may be accompanied by SHIVERING.
Cyanosis - A bluish or purplish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes due to an increase in the amount of deoxygenated hemoglobin in the blood or a structural defect in the hemoglobin molecule.
Edema - Excessive amount of watery fluid accumulated in the intercellular spaces, most commonly present in subcutaneous tissue.
Fatigue - The state of weariness following a period of exertion, mental or physical, characterized by a decreased capacity for work and reduced efficiency to respond to stimuli.
Flushing - A transient reddening of the face that may be due to fever, certain drugs, exertion, stress, or a disease process.
Hot Flashes - A sudden, temporary sensation of heat predominantly experienced by some women during MENOPAUSE. (Random House Unabridged Dictionary, 2d ed)
Pseudophakia - Presence of an intraocular lens after cataract extraction.
Reticulocytosis - An increase in circulating RETICULOCYTES, which is among the simplest and most reliable signs of accelerated ERYTHROCYTE production. Reticulocytosis occurs during active BLOOD regeneration (stimulation of red bone marrow) and in certain types of ANEMIA, particularly CONGENITAL HEMOLYTIC ANEMIA.

Signs and Symptoms, Respiratory - Respiratory system manifestations of diseases of the respiratory tract or of other organs.
