Phosphorylation

Definition: The introduction of a phosphoryl group into a compound through the formation of an ester bond between the compound and a phosphorus moiety.
Notes: almost never IM; enzymatic phosphorylation: coord NIM with PHOSPHOTRANSFERASES (IM) + substrate (NIM) or specific phosphotransferase (particularly KINASES or PROTEIN KINASES) (IM); OXIDATIVE PHOSPHORYLATION & PHOTOPHOSPHORYLATION are also available
