An accumulation of endolymph in the inner ear resulting in deafness and tinnitus, and sometimes vertigo (MENIERE'S DISEASE). Induced experimentally, it often serves as an animal model for Meniere's disease. (From Dorland, 27th ed.) |

Meniere's Disease - A disease of the inner ear characterized by vertigo, tinnitus, and fluctuating hearing loss often accompanied by fullness in the affected ear. ENDOLYMPHATIC HYDROPS (swelling of the endolymph-containing structures) is the main pathologic finding. |
