Suppuration

Definition: A pathologic process consisting in the formation of pus.

Suppuration Categories.
Abscess - Accumulation of purulent material in tissues, organs, or circumscribed spaces, usually associated with signs of infection.
Empyema - Presence of pus in a hollow organ or body cavity.
Otitis Media, Suppurative - Inflammation of the middle ear with purulent discharge.
Thyroiditis, Suppurative - Inflammatory disease of the thyroid gland caused by bacteria, fungi, protozoa, or flatworms.
