Immunocompromised Host

Definition: A human or animal whose immunologic mechanism is deficient because of an immunodeficiency disorder or other disease or as the result of the administration of immunosuppressive drugs or radiation.
Notes: note category: a physiol state in man or animal; coord IM with disease or physiol state complicating the immunocompromised state (IM with /immunol) or with the immunosuppressive agent (IM with pertinent subh)
