Diathermy

Definition: The induction of local hyperthermia by either short radio waves or high-frequency sound waves.

Diathermy Categories.
Short-Wave Therapy - The use of focused short radio waves to produce local hyperthermia in an injured person or diseased body area.
Ultrasonic Therapy - The use of focused, high-frequency sound waves to produce local hyperthermia in certain diseased or injured parts of the body or to destroy the diseased tissue.
