Cricetulus

Definition: A genus of the family Muridae consisting of eleven species. C. migratorius, the grey or Armenian hamster, and C. griseus, the Chinese hamster, are the two species used in biomedical research.
Notes: do not confuse with CRICETUS see HAMSTERS; CRICETINAE see HAMSTERS or CRICETIDAE see MICROTINAE; NIM when exper animal: no qualif; when IM, qualif permitted; do not forget also to check tag HAMSTERS
