Trichuroidea

Definition: A superfamily of nematodes of the order ENOPLIDA. Its organisms have a well developed intestine and rectum.
Notes: a superfamily of nematodes; infection: coord IM with ENOPLIDA INFECTIONS (IM); for antigens, coord with ANTIGENS, HELMINTH, for antibodies, coord with ANTIBODIES, HELMINTH

Trichuroidea Categories.
Capillaria - A genus of trichuroid nematodes parasitic in the liver and intestines of many mammals and birds. Two species, C. hepatica and C. philippinensis, produce often fatal infections in man.
Trichinella - A genus of parasitic nematodes that causes TRICHINOSIS in man and carnivores.
Trichuris - A genus of nematode worms comprising the whipworms.
