Professional Competence

Definition: The capability to perform the duties of one's profession generally, or to perform a particular professional task, with skill of an acceptable quality.
Notes: competence in any profession or discipline: differentiate from CLINICAL COMPETENCE which is restricted to competence in professional activities directly related to patient care
Also Called: Generalization of Expertise,Technical Expertise
