Physical Education and Training

Definition: Instructional programs in the care and development of the body, often in schools. The concept does not include prescribed exercises, which is EXERCISE THERAPY.
Notes: "instructional" & "often in schools": differentiate from EXERCISE (see MeSH definition there), from GYMNASTICS (see note there) & from EXERCISE THERAPY (prescribed exercise & physical activity); DF: PHYS ED or PHYSICAL EDUC or PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Gymnastics - Systematic physical exercise. This includes calisthenics, a system of light gymnastics for promoting strength and grace of carriage.
