Cytogenetics - A subdiscipline of genetics which deals with the cytological and molecular analysis of the CHROMOSOMES, and location of the GENES on chromosomes, and the movements of chromosomes during the CELL CYCLE. |

Genetic Research - Research into the cause, transmission, amelioration, elimination, or enhancement of inherited disorders and traits. |

Genetics, Medical - A subdiscipline of human genetics which entails the reliable prediction of certain human disorders as a function of the lineage and/or genetic makeup of an individual or of any two parents or potential parents. |

Genetics, Microbial - A subdiscipline of genetics which deals with the genetic mechanisms and processes of microorganisms. |
