Chemical and Pharmacologic Phenomena Categories.
Biopharmaceutics - The study of the physical and chemical properties of a drug and its dosage form as related to the onset, duration, and intensity of its action.
Cytoprotection - The process by which chemical compounds provide protection to cells against harmful agents.
Depression, Chemical
Dose-Response Relationship, Drug - The relationship between the dose of an administered drug and the response of the organism to the drug.
Drug Design - The molecular designing of drugs for specific purposes (such as DNA-binding, enzyme inhibition, anti-cancer efficacy, etc.) based on knowledge of molecular properties such as activity of functional groups, molecular geometry, and electronic structure, and also on information cataloged on analogous molecules. Drug design is generally computer-assisted molecular modeling and does not include pharmacokinetics, dosage analysis, or drug administration analysis.
Drug Interactions - The action of a drug that may affect the activity, metabolism, or toxicity of another drug.
Drug Resistance - Diminished or failed response of an organism, disease or tissue to the intended effectiveness of a chemical or drug. It should be differentiated from DRUG TOLERANCE which is the progressive diminution of the susceptibility of a human or animal to the effects of a drug, as a result of continued administration.
Drug Tolerance - Progressive diminution of the susceptibility of a human or animal to the effects of a drug, resulting from its continued administration. It should be differentiated from DRUG RESISTANCE wherein an organism, disease, or tissue fails to respond to the intended effectiveness of a chemical or drug. It should also be differentiated from MAXIMUM TOLERATED DOSE and NO-OBSERVED-ADVERSE-EFFECT LEVEL.
Kinetics - The study of rate dynamics in chemical or physical systems.
Stimulation, Chemical
