Myricaceae

Definition: A plant family of the order Myricales, subclass Hamamelidae, class Magnoliopsida. They are trees and shrubs having aromatic leaves that often have yellow glandular dots on the surface. Single-seeded fruits are often covered with waxy granules, bumps, or layers. The flowers are small, greenish, and inconspicuous.
