Hydroxylamines

Definition: Organic compounds that contain the (-NH2OH) radical.

Hydroxylamines Categories.
4-Hydroxyaminoquinoline-1-oxide - A potent mutagen and carcinogen. It is a reduction product of 4-NITROQUINOLINE-1-OXIDE. It binds with nucleic acids and inactivates both bacteria and bacteriophage.
Aminooxyacetic Acid - A compound that inhibits aminobutyrate aminotransferase activity in vivo, thereby raising the level of gamma-aminobutyric acid in tissues.
Hydroxamic Acids - A class of weak acids with the general formula R-CONHOH.
Oximes - Compounds that contain the radical R2C=N.OH derived from condensation of ALDEHYDES or KETONES with HYDROXYLAMINE. Members of this group are CHOLINESTERASE REACTIVATORS.
